Finished Ideas for Storyboard
So these are my final thoughts on how to end the storyboard that has been haunting me. Following the rock hitting the window I am going with my plan of having the camera show Rob waiting for a response that he doesn't get. Once he begins to throw more rocks the camera shifts to inside Joaquin's room where you can hear the constant tapping on the glass and see the silhouette of Joaquin laying in bed in the unlit room. As he groans and gets up the camera follows behind him as he opens the window. The camera then cuts again to a behind the shoulder shot of Rob about to throw another rock when he sees the window open and Joaquin's head pop out.
This is where dialogue comes in, something that I'm still not 100% sure on. I definitely want Joaquin to be annoyed but the question is how annoyed? I'm planning on the conversation essentially being Joaquin asking Rob what he wants at 10pm (establishing time) and once Rob brings up City Day, Joaquin essentially explains how he has no time for it and they haven't done it in years. Then there will be arguing between the two until Rob ultimately convinces Joaquin to go.
That's when another issue comes up, if Joaquin leaves the house his extremely strict mother will hear him. Prompting Rob to tell Joaquin to jump out of the window. This leads to Joaquin revealing that he has a fear of heights, foreshadowing a future event in the film. Rob promises to catch Joaquin but then just lets Joaquin fall into a bush leading to even more tension growing in the relationship to the characters. As they walk to the car Cass can be seen in the back seat and exchanges waves with Joaquin with Rob clearly looking annoyed. I want to end the scene with a high angle of the car speeding off down the road with the title card appearing in the night sky. I've run a lot of this by Alberto and Camila and everything is looking good, I'm excited to start filming and finish up drawing the storyboard described.
